How Has Social Media Impacted Our Lives?

As we all know, social media has changed the world and is a part of our daily lives. It has made a significant difference on our living.
Below are some factors which have drastically changed due to social media:
News:
Social media has become the first and immediate source of news. News channels these days tweet and give updates of important issues all over the world. Social media gives people a chance to express their opinions to any news they come across. It is a common platform for all to share any kind of happenings. The availability of social networks makes news more accessible. News on social media passes on to the whole world in ways which we have never seen and experienced before.
Interaction:
Social media has changed the way people communicate with each other in a big way. It allows people to keep in touch easily. People across nations and continents are now close-knit because of social sites. It is barely an effort to chat through social networking sites to be in touch with people. Photographs, videos, audio notes and other such things make it easy to experience and enjoy each moment with your loved even if he/she lives away.
Politics:
Needless to say, social media has a big role to play in making the world aware of political issues. The political awareness of people has increased, making them up-to-date with current affairs. It inspires the elections in various countries as well.
Education:
Social media has quite a big hand in fostering literacy. Children these days use social media platforms at a very early age and begin developing great communication skills and overall turn out to be smarter and more literate compared to the earlier generations. This is a very positive change to the society since the children of today are the youth of tomorrow. The internet and social media makes simple and complex information more available to kids and anyone can become as intelligent as they desire to be.
Marketing:
The dynamics of marketing have been changed a lot due to social media. Instead of investing large sums of money into television/print media advertisements, an ad on social media is cheaper and has more impact on consumers. Selling products on social media platforms enables the seller to reach a huge audience easily through minimal resources. Customers can now interact directly with the seller for more information on products before making the final purchase. The process of selling and buying has become absolutely easy and quick due to social networking. Thus, the marketing scenario has gone through a transformation off-late.

Social media has made a definite place for itself in our future. There are many ways the social media has changed the world. It makes our lives better and easier if used appropriately.
